I’ve used kindles and the kindle app for years.
Whenever I buy a kindle book it always gives me the choice of which device to “deliver” it to.
The list is a long mess of “iPhone #7’s” and “Kindle #2’s” and “Geoff’s iPad” and so on.
It always kind of bugged me but not enough to bother going in to whatever page on my Amazon profile to clean it out.
It doesn’t matter anyway because the book automatically shows up on every device I actually have and I can just tap to download and open.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Last night I tried to open Antony and Cleopatra in the kindle app on my phone.
I got a little annoyed.
(Aside: I hate DRM)
I emailed Amazon to tell them this happened, ask how to fix it, and let them know that I bought the book and I expect to be able to download it whenever I want as many times as I want.
(I have a long long long Amazon purchase history stretching back to 1997. Back when Amazon only sold books and their web page was blue. But I digress.)
Amazon wrote me back this morning. The very apologetic support person kindly said…
“Uh, you have sixteen devices linked to your kindle account…”
😳
I cleaned up my device list.
I can now read Antony and Cleopatra on my phone.
